Perfectionism is killing me,
trying to be what everybody wants me to be.
Worst case scenarios I can't pick and choose
my thoughts are no longer mine to lose.

Drown it out but it's still right there,
all these demands, I'm always aware.
Letting people down left and right,
I've spread myself too thin but I'll say I'm fine.
Pleasing the crowd, killing myself
refusing to notice that I'm so unwell.
Check it off the worry list, think of something new,
mental bliss for a moment or two.

Crashing down around me,
can't get a good night's sleep.
Turn it off they say,
that means nothing to me.

No quality of life,
living for others and I'm fucking dead.
How am I gonna find,
a way to cope with this war in my head?
